Day Twelve: Helicopter Fail Again and Hut Storm Damage

Highlights from Day 12 in Hawaii: We had a REALLY rough night in the hut, it was crazy windy and loud. We got up early to head south for our 3rd attempt at a helicopter flight, but no luck. The wind thwarted our plans again so we turned it into a beach day! We also had lunch at the famous Lava Lava Beach Club. When we got home for the night, our hut roof was damaged and all of our stuff was soaked! A scramble insued to find a place to stay, it was a bit stressful. We ended up booking the Outrigger just south of Kona and arrived with all of our soaked luggage at around 10:30, just in time for a much needed dip in the hot tub!
