Ruth and I started our week off with a trip to South Lake Tahoe. It was our intention to camp in the back country and then climb Hawkins Peak in the morning
We got to our camp site on Forest Service land and set up. The weather immediately started to turn on us and we would experience rain, hail and snow. Crazy night!
We woke up to a nice blanket of snow after a cold and windy night, the peak was definitely off... Instead we drove around on some Forest Service roads and explored the area.
We spent the next couple of days at Kit Carson campground. We explored South Lake Tahoe, the new Hard Rock Hotel, met up with some friends for happy hour and took in a Boz Scaggs concert. A great weekend then it was off to the Lost Coast!!!
