Palm Springs Tram to Mt San Jacinto

Today we rode the Palm Springs Ariel Tramway up to Mt San Jacinto. It was a really amazing ride and an engineering wonder. If you are ever in the Palm Springs area, take this trip!
The ride up is 11 minutes and about 7,000 feet. It's quite amazing.
After the ride to the top, we walked to the ranger station to get a wilderness permit.
We hiked the 3 miles on ice out to the back country camp sites and found a gem of a spot!
We froze our asses off, but we packed up a bottle of champagne and throughly enjoyed it!! What a difference 24 hours makes, we were in the heart of the desert the night before!
