Family Brunch Train Ride
on the Sacramento RiverTrain
2-15-15
We had the opportunity to join Uncle Randy on the Train for a Sunday Brunch trip. Most of the family was there, with just Dad, Chris and Katlyn missing due to work. Randy had arranged for us to have an entire car to ourselves and there was beer and champagne on ice waiting for us. The table setting was beautiful, with roses and chocolates set out.
The train left the station and we all caught up over glasses of champagne. The weather was amazing and the hills were an unbelievable shade of green. It was absolutely perfect!
We had the added blessing of an early bloom on the almond trees, they were all white and pink along the route! There were a ton of new orchards being planted also, pretty amazing.
After an amazing meal we all went out to the open air car to enjoy the scenery and weather.
This was my first trip with a new camera, and I was testing out some functions. This picture came out pretty strange...
But overall I am really happy with the pictures it took, especially the panoramas.
The trip back to the station went quickly as we asked questions about the different terrain and the history of the area. After arriving back in Oakdale, we sampled some of the local culture in a dive bar down the street. We played dice and laughed our butts off, a great end to a beautiful day!!
