Folsom Lake Trail- Stirling Point to Rattlesnake Bar 1-16-12

Looking to make some progress towards my circumnavigation of Folsom Lake, I crossed a small easily accessible section off the list. Parking is free and plentiful at the Stirling Point Staging Area. This parking area is open 8-5. There is a half mile trail that leads to the Western States Trail, where I headed north towards Rattlesnake Bar. The trail is not very well signed on this section, and there are numerous confusing side trails. The trail takes you through lush green area to arid dry sections.
