Auburn Loop Hike 3-7-12
The total stats for my day of hiking were:
8.5 miles
1,000 Feet of climbing
I wanted to spend at least one of my days off on the trail, so I called up James and arranged a day in Auburn State Rec Area. I met him at his house at 9 am, and we looked through the guidebook for some new territory to explore. We found a decent loop hike that we had not done before. Although we had done the beginning and ending trails numerous times before, we had never linked these trails into a loop. We both wanted to get a decent sweat on, so we hit the training hill right away. Perfect weather was the order of the day, and we quickly shed layers and pushed up the hill. We reached the Pointed Rocks and passed the Quarry, linking back up to the Quarry Trail. Great hike, we both wished it was a bit longer.
